What to do?

What to do during the 'Corona Times' in Amsterdam? Well, there's plenty of cool stuff you can do, so here are a few suggestions!

Private boat tours

Amsterdam is at its most beautiful from the water in both summer and winter. The canals of the capital are even on the UNESCO World Heritage list, so be sure to book a nice private boat trip. Renting a boat yourself is also a great option. Boating experience is not required! Let us know if you need some assistance with your reservation.

Nine Streets District

The 9 Streets traverse Amsterdam's main canals. You stumble across the small boutique stores and vintage, design and specialty stores. The streets are one of the most photogenic places in the city. Always check the current local Covid-19 measurements regarding opening hours or temporary closures!

More tips on which stores to visit? Our team is more than ready to assist.

Rent a bike

Live like the locals and jump on your bike! Amsterdam is a very bicycle-friendly city and cycling is a great way to discover Amsterdam. Cycle to one of the many city parks, take a ride along the Amstel River or hop on the ferry to Amsterdam North. Check out the activities with one of our lovely staff members.

Want to make a reservation? Please contact our front desk. We are ready to assist you in reserving the bikes.

Food Walks in Amsterdam

You can of course discover culinary Amsterdam on your own, but a food walk is just as fun! An experienced foodie will take you around the city and show you the best places to eat. All that walking also means you won't have to hold back on all the snacks and drinks served along the way. Here are our 5 tips:

  • Tasty Walk
  • Wine & Food Walk
  • Oyster Walk
  • City walk020
  • Glühwalk

Want to join one of the food walks? We are more than happy to check the availability in order to make a reservation.

Shopping

Amsterdam is a great place for shopping. For example, in the shopping streets Kalverstraat and Nieuwendijk, which meander through the center of Amsterdam. You'll find boutiques in De 9 Straatjes and on the Haarlemmerstraat. Fancy some Gucci? Then go to the chic P.C. Hooftstraat. Department stores and shopping centers such as the Bijenkorf and Magna Plaza are just minutes away from the hotel. Always check the current local Covid-19 measurements regarding opening hours or temporary closures!

Check out the Street Art

Museums closed? Fortunately, Amsterdam also has plenty of outdoor art to offer. There's street art to be admired in all the neighborhoods of Amsterdam, but for lots of it, big and colorful, you must head to the industrial NDSM wharf in Noord. You can also take a guided tour. We are happy to look at the possibilities with you.

Markets

Amsterdam offers a wide variety of markets. The Albert Cuyp market is a great place to try Dutch street food, such as fresh stroopwafels or poffertjes. Every Monday you can stroll through the Westerstraatmarkt in the Jordaan and on Mondays and Saturdays you can stroll through the hip Noordermarkt in the same neighborhood. Do you like vintage? Then Waterlooplein is the place to be, as well as the IJ-Hallen, where you can find once a month the largest flea market in Europe. Always check the current local Covid-19 measurements regarding opening hours or temporary closures!

Museums

Museums are open again untill 5pm, taking into consideration all the necessary safety measures. Museum square offers a variety of options, from classical art at the Rembrandt or Van Gogh museums to modern and contemporary art at the Stedelijk and Moco museums. Furthermore, Anne Frank House, Royal palace Amsterdam, Tropenmuseum, Rembrandt house, the Amsterdam museum and many more are looking forward to welcoming the visitors. Book your tickets in advance!

Take a walk on the beach

Amsterdam is 30 minutes away from the beach, so get on the train or bus and drive to Zandvoort or Bloemendaal. In winter it is nice and quiet, but just as beautiful, if not more so. The sea is rougher, the wind blows harder: ideal for a refreshing beach walk with some hot chocolate or a portion of bitterballen! Our team is more than happy to check out the possibilities and to book a bus and/or train ticket.
